Disappointing Return

My last visit to Hog Island Oyster Bar was five months ago, so I'm really looking forward to some yummy oysters this time. We started off with the happy hour oysters (they are $1 each) - Steele Point from Selton, Washington. These oysteres are so light in flavor that it is not salty at all. In fact, my brother thinks they don't taste like oysters.

The Clam Chowder (a clam-cooking style) is no longer as thick as it used to. They gave us less manila clams than usual; I think it is because they were cooking four orders of Clam Chowder at the same time. :(

For our baked oysters, we ordered Oysters Casino and Oysters Longosta (baked with lobster, cilantro, and butter). I guess the oysters they used for baking are really small. When the server gave us the baked oysters, they just look like a bunch of empty shells on the plate. However, we all agree that the Longosta is better than Casino.

We got the Hog Island mix (Sweetwater, Kumamoto, and Altantic) for our second round of raw oysters. Since they are coming straight from the Hog Island farm, the quality is guaranteed, but I think the Altantic is extra salty this time.

They also have scallops today. The dish looks really good but it was sold out by the time we order. :( My friend doesn't really like the Blue Star wheat beer because it is too light for him. I really like it, but I can't drink too much since I'm the driver. :(

I'm quite disappointed with the hot deli this time. I hope it is only because they were extremely busy at that time or the cook was having a bad day.

近排日本,香港和東南亞地區乽處於沙門士高峰期,所以我們都不敢食咁多生皂食物啊!

I have never been to their farm and I think I couldn't take that many oysters at once too.
